HR 684 Marketplace Fairness Act of 2013 Is A Nightmare For Online Investors

Gold and silver investors will face a real-life nightmare if a bill that recently passed the Senate becomes law.  The bill would tax commerce between the states, something that has been exempt (except for certain circumstances) since the Constitution was ratified.  Now, the bill is in the House, where it is known as HR 684 “Marketplace Fairness Act of 2013.” The bill's supporters say that it would "level the playing field" between "bricks and mortar" stores, which collect local sales taxes, and sellers that deliver across state lines without collecting sales taxes.  In reality, it would be a massive tax increase and would burden businesses, large and small alike, with huge compliance costs.  There is nothing "fair" about the act, and certainly not for gold and silver investors.  The bill would, for residents of many states, immediately impose taxes on gold and silver purchases while such investments as stocks and bonds remain exempt.  This, of course, would not be a "level playing field." There is no doubt about it, HR 684 would take the luster off investing in gold and silver. HR 684 can be stopped in the House--if enough Americans let their Representatives know that they should oppose the bill.  Members of the House, because they serve only two years between elections, DO LISTEN to their constituents. Contacting members of Congress is not that difficult.  It can be done via emails, letters, faxes and phone calls.  Visiting your Congressperson's office is not necessary but could yield tremendous results if you personally know your Representative.  To find out who your Representative is and to learn the various ways to contact him/her, go toFind Your Representative and type in your ZIP. The really important thing is the number of messages, regardless of the manner of delivery, that our Reps receive in opposition to this bill. To see the text of HR 684 and to learn where your Rep stands on this bill, go to Marketplace Fairness Act Bill.  If your Rep co-sponsored the bill, ask him/her to reverse course.   Even if you can't get him/her to reverse course, you can reduce his/her willingness to fight for the bill as other members of the House oppose it. My favorite way to contact my Rep on important issues, such as HR 684, is to type and print two copies of a letter and fax it to my Rep's local office and her DC office.  Then I mail a copy to both offices.  Faxes are not easy to ignore, and letters, while they take a little time to reach my Rep's offices, show a strong interest in the matter. All readers are urged to take action on HR 684 as soon as possible.  The sooner members of the House recognize that there is strong opposition, the better.  If HR 684 becomes law, it will be a disaster for gold and silver investors.

President Obama and his family this morning went to Easter Sunday services at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. Here are notes on the Easter service from the pool reporter, which included this part, “It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back … for blacks to be back in the back of the bus … for women to be back in the kitchen … for immigrants to be back on their side of the border”:

The hymn “Jesus Christ is Risen” was followed by the “Song of Praise.”

This was followed by “The Collect of the Day” (Celebrant: “The Lord be with you”; Congregation: “And also with you.”)

The first reading, by Rev. Fred Walker, was from Exodus 14:10-14, 21-25, 15:20-21.

The anthem, sung by St John’s Choir was “Victimae Paschali Laudes.”

The second reading was Romans 15:4-13.

The entire congregation sang the hymn, “Come, Ye Faithful.”

The Holy Gospel reading was from John 20:1-18.

Highlights from the Rev. Dr. Luis Leon’s sermon:

Opened with a welcome and a joke about people who came to church just so they could tell their parents or people they’re having lunch with later that they did.

What God wants of every one of us is to believe as much as we can at a given moment … it’s all right to have doubts.

We often want things to go back to the way things used to be, before “work got difficult and faith got confused, and life got more confusing,” but when we dwell on the “if only” of life we forget that “God addresses us in the now.”

As Jesus told Mary not to hold on to the past, “You cannot go back.”

“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back … for blacks to be back in the back of the bus … for women to be back in the kitchen … for immigrants to be back on their side of the border.”

“The message of Easter is about the power of love over loveless power.”

“Easter vision” will allow you to see the whole world in a different way. “There is no injustice so insidious that there can be no truth … no war so deep that there can be no peace … no enemy so bitter that they can’t become a friend.”

“Easter vision” means recognizing reality in a new and wonderful way.

“May God bless you with Easter vision now and forever.”

The sermon was followed by the prayers of the faithful, led by Rev. Patrick Williams, which included prayers for “Barack, our president,” and for “leaders in Afghanistan, Haiti, and the Middle East.

Next on the program was “The Peace”(during which members of the congregation shake hands and greet each other with “The peace of the Lord be with you,” etc.)

This was followed by the Holy Communion (along with its accompanying collection, hymns, and recitation of The Lord’s Prayer).

Pool was able to catch a glimpse of POTUS and the First Lady taking communion.

The post-communion prayer was “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Pool was ushered out at 12:39, before the dismissal. Now outside the church waiting for the president’s exit.
A correction: It was an error to assume that the Obamas were seated in the first pew. National Journal’s George Condon has pointed out that, according to the church website, it is tradition for the president to sit in pew 54.

Those Elusive Obama/Biden Bumper Stickers

I remember in November when the Presidential election approached. There were no Obama/Biden bumper stickers to be seen. I was surprised like many people that President Obama won Florida and the Presidential election. It was like his people were hiding ready to strike on election day. I also wondered if there was cheating during the election. There is no proof, but one wonders.

Now, I see Obama/Biden bumper stickers all over the place. Every day I pass cars that have Obama/Biden bumper stickers on them. I often pass them just to see what they look like. I wonder what kind of idiot would vote for these two guys again. Sadly, I believe if they ran again, they would win again. I really think there are that many idiots ready to allow politicians ruin our country. Many of these people have been taking handouts for their entire lives.

I have no idea what will happen in the future. There are so many selfish, unethical politicians out there ready to destroy American. President Obama is not the first and he will not be the last. I have to admit, when I pass these Obama/Biden bumper stickers I mumble something not kind under my breathe. I still cannot believe there are that many people out there that don't care about our country. They just want to make sure their political party wins. They don't care what the cost, they just want to win. Look at the results. We have one of the worst Presidents sitting in the White House doing his best to destroy America. Obama/Biden fans, take your bumper stickers and shove them.

Another Obama State Of The Union Address

We all know what the state of the union is, declining. The jobs are disappearing. The economy sucks and the national debt is skyrocketing. President Obama has done nothing for this country and yet he gets another term. This second term is where we will see the real President Obama. Mark my words, he is not through changing America. He said this change was a change you could believe in. You better beware and realize this change will affect each of us more than you might believe.

His true agenda is not in his speech, Obama is slowly showing us his true agenda in his second term and it isn't pretty. He no longer cares what we think about him and he is not going to give you the jobs you need. He will do nothing to lower the deficit. This is proof that this State of The Union Address means nothing because it is a bunch of useless words written on a teleprompter for your President to read to you.

Another Obama State of The Union Address is a waste of all our time. It doesn't matter what he says. We see more from a person's actions than what they say. Actions speak louder than words. This President is intent on destroying America and bringing to you his true agenda. Hopefully, we make it through another four years without the Obama being able to completely destroy America. It's time for America to fight back before it is too late.

Make your voice heard--tell Congress to oppose new sales tax.

For many years, large national retailers and many state tax collectors have hoped for new Internet sales tax collection policy. They want Congress to pass a federal law that would allow tax agents from one state to enforce their sales tax laws on retailers based in other states, even when a business is based thousands of miles away. eBay Inc. opposes this misguided idea, and believes that small businesses selling via the Internet should only be subject to the tax laws of the states in which they operate.

The news from Capitol Hill is clear. Internet sales tax supporters are convinced that 2013 is their year, and they are determined to pass a new Internet sales tax bill when Congress tackles "corporate tax reform." In December, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), the sponsor of Internet sales tax legislation, publicly announced that he had a commitment from the Senate Finance Committee to "take it up early next year and move it to the floor."

Obama Encourages Boy Scouts To Accept Gays

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Sunday encouraged the Boy Scouts of America to end its ban on gay members and leaders, days before the group is expected to vote on the controversial and long-standing rule.

If the Boy Scouts change their rules, I will remove my son from the Cub Scouts. I believe the government and President Obama should stay out of private matters. Our President needs to worry about jobs, the bad economy and lowering the deficit. I would actually rather the President pay attention to his golf game and his vacations than sticking his opinion into the Boy Scouts.

An America Built To Last In President Obama's Words

President Obama is working to build a country and an economy where we reward hard work, value fairness, and where everyone is held accountable for what they do. I Won't Be Watching President Obama's Inaugural Speech

Four years was enough for me with President Obama. I won't be paying attention to his Inaugural speech in 2013. I know President Obama won't be saying anything important to me during his speech. I did not vote for the President. I do not support him and his agendas. I respect the office of the President of The United States, but I have no respect for our President.

I don't agree with his attack on gun owners-He needs to worry more about criminals, mental health and school security.

Obamacare will destroy our healthcare. Government control on anything, costs more money for a lesser product.

I disagree with President Obama paying too much golf and spending too much time on vacation when the rest of the country is suffering and our deficit is very high. It shows he does not care about the deficit or the people.

SECOND CONGRESSMAN SUGGESTS IMPEACHMENT

CONGRESSMAN WARNS OBAMA: IMPEACH YOU

(Daily Caller) – Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.

Stockman warned that such executive orders would be “unconstitutional” and “infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.”

“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.

At his press conference Monday, Obama floated the possibility of using executive action to enact policies aimed at reducing gun violence.

The freshman congressman, who served one term in Congress in the mid-1990s, further labeled the possibility “an existential threat to this nation” because, he said, the purpose of the Second Amendment is to allow the people to protect themselves from tyranny. He concluded by claiming that an executive order would be not just “not just an attack on the Constitution,” but also an “attack on Americans.”

“If the president is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist,” he said.

OBAMA TO ANNOUNCE GUN BAN… SURROUNDED BY CHILDREN

Seems to me, the President is just trying to take guns away form law abiding citizens. Bank of America ‘freezes gun maker’s account’

‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet’

(CNS News) – Bank of America has reportedly frozen the account of gun manufacturer American Spirit Arms, according to its owner, Joe Sirochman.

In a Facebook post dated December 29, Sirochman wrote the following:

SPECIAL: “Do NOT let the government take our guns!’ Protect Your Gun Rights!

“My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms…our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits for further review.

“After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for further review — her exact words were — ‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.’”(emphasis added)

Sirochman also wrote that he told the bank manager that “they have no right to make up their own new rules and regs” and that “[American Spirit is a] firearms manufacturer with all the proper licensing.”

He also noted that he has been doing business with Bank of America for over 10 years, but will now be looking for a new bank.

According to Unlawful News, this isn’t the first time Bank of America has targeted a customer involved in the firearms industry.

McMillan Group International was reportedly told that its business was no longer welcome after the company started manufacturing firearms – even after 12 years of doing business with the bank.
